This is one of those meals I make when I want something easy but still packed with flavor. I’m taking chicken, letting it slow cook in a rich Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce, and by the time it’s done, it’s fall-apart tender.

Once I shred it, it soaks up all that sauce, sweet, smoky, tangy, with just a little depth from the rum and spices. Then I pile it right over a bowl of rice and finish it with some fresh green onions.

What I love about this dish is how effortless it is. You throw everything in the crockpot and let it do its thing, and what you get back is something that tastes like you really put in work.

Recipe Tips

Sear the chicken before adding it to the crockpot. That quick step adds an extra layer of flavor you won’t get if you skip it.
