When I pull these pizza sliders out of the oven, the first thing I notice is how glossy and golden the tops look from the garlic butter. The rolls are soft and pillowy, but the bottom has just enough crisp from broiling to hold everything together. As I pull one slider apart, the mozzarella stretches beautifully, layered between tangy pizza sauce and savory pepperoni. Every bite tastes like classic pizza night but richer and more indulgent, thanks to the buttery herb topping soaking into the rolls. They are warm, cheesy, garlicky, and impossible to stop eating once you start.

Ingredients

For Hawaii Rolls:

  • 12- count Hawaiian Sweet Rolls or Soft Dinner Rolls
  • 2 tbsp. Olive Oil
  • ½ cup Pizza Sauce
  • 1.5 cups Shredded Mozzarella
  • ½ cup Grated Parmesan
  • 4 oz. Sliced Pepperoni chopped

Topping Sauce:

  • ¼ cup Grated Parmesan
  • ¼ cup Melted Butter
  • 3-4 Garlic Cloves finely minced
  • 1 tbsp. Fresh Oregano finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp. Basil finely chopped
  • 1 tsp. Red Pepper Flakes

Instructions

Prepare the Rolls

  • Preheat the oven to broil on HIGH. Line a rimmed baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Place the rolls on the pan and slice them in half lengthwise, keeping the rolls connected.
  • Remove the top half and set aside.
  • Drizzle the olive oil over the bottom half of the rolls.
  • Broil for 2 to 3 minutes until lightly golden and toasted.
  • Reduce oven temperature to 350°F.

Assemble the Sliders

  • Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the toasted bottom half.
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella evenly on top.
  • Add the grated parmesan and chopped pepperoni.
  • Place the top half of the rolls back on to form sandwiches.
  • Bake for 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese is fully melted.

Make the Topping Sauce

  • In a small bowl, mix melted butter, grated parmesan, minced garlic, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes until well combined.

Finish and Serve

  • Remove sliders from the oven and brush generously with the topping sauce.
  • Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Serve warm and pull apart to enjoy.

Recipe Tips

Broiling the bottom half of the rolls before assembling is key. It creates a light barrier that prevents the rolls from getting soggy once the sauce and cheese are added.
