Italian Sub Wrap (Low-Carb)

This right here is one of my favorite ways to switch up a classic Italian sub. Instead of the traditional bread, I wrap everything up in a tortilla, toast it until golden, and let that cheese melt all the way through.

When I cut into it, you can see every layer, the ham, salami, pepperoni, melted provolone, plus that fresh crunch from the lettuce, onions, and banana peppers. And that deli dressing with Italian seasoning ties everything together with that tangy, savory flavor.

What really makes this hit is the texture. You’ve got that crispy outside from the skillet and a warm, melty, loaded inside. It’s lighter than a sub but still gives you all the flavor you’re looking for.

Why This Recipe Is a Great Alternative to a Classic Italian Sub

• Lighter than traditional bread but still filling
• Crispy outside, melty inside, better texture contrast
• Faster to make than a full sandwich build
• Easier to portion and meal prep
• Less messy, easier to eat on the go
• You still get all the classic Italian sub flavors

Variations

• Spicy Version: Add crushed red pepper or hot giardiniera
• Chicken Italian Wrap: Swap deli meats for grilled chicken
• Turkey Version: Use turkey instead of ham for a leaner option
• Low Carb: Use low-carb tortillas (already aligned with your recipe)
• Extra Cheesy: Add mozzarella or double provolone
• Pressed Panini Style: Use a panini press for extra crisp
• Sauce Swap: Try pesto or chipotle mayo instead of deli dressing

Recipe Tips

Don’t overload the wrap. Keep everything stacked neatly on one half so it folds clean and cooks evenly without falling apart.
