These Spicy Blackened Chicken Wings are air fried, crispy, and coated in a smoky blackened seasoning, then finished with a buttery hot sauce glaze for bold flavor without the fryer.

Ingredients
  

Homemade Blackened Seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika or regular paprika
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne powder adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme

Chicken Wings

  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 2 tablespoons blackening seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Spicy Butter Sauce

  • ¼ cup hot sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted

Instructions
 

Blackened Seasoning

  • Add all ingredients to a small bowl.
  • Mix thoroughly until evenly combined.
  • Store in an airtight container and use as

Chicken Wings & Sauce

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and lightly grease it.
  • In a large bowl, add the chicken wings, olive oil, and blackening seasoning. Toss until every wing is evenly coated.
  • Place the wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they are not touching.
  • Bake for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through if desired, until the wings are crispy and fully cooked.
  • While the wings bake, mix the hot sauce and melted butter in a small bowl until smooth and well combined.
  • Remove the wings from the oven and immediately toss them in the hot sauce mixture until evenly coated.
  • Serve hot with ranch or blue cheese dressing to balance the heat.
