When I make this Southern Skillet Fried Corn, my whole kitchen fills with the smell of sizzling bacon and sweet corn caramelizing in butter. I love watching the bacon crisp up in the skillet because I know it is the foundation of all that flavor. Once I stir in the peppers, onions, and garlic, everything softens and releases its aroma, and it feels like the kind of comfort food I grew up eating. The corn soaks up all that smoky, savory richness and the Cajun seasoning gives it the perfect kick. When I finish it with green onions, the whole dish looks bright and absolutely irresistible. Every bite reminds me why Southern food is all about simple ingredients cooked with love.

Recipe Tips

For extra flavor, reserve one tablespoon of the bacon grease before adding the butter. It enhances the smoky taste and helps the corn caramelize beautifully.
